First Aid and CPR
We are certified by the Red Cross to teach CPR, First Aid and AED use.
CPR and First Aid training is much more useful than martial arts or self defense. If you learn to avoid and prevent assaults, the chances of actually having to do self defense is greatly diminished. In my own life I've never had to use force or violence to defend myself -- I'm prepared to, but would prefer to avoid and escape it rather than fight my way out. However, in the last year alone I've used First Aid and CPR skills three different times to assist others who were injured or in distress.
Training in CPR and First Aid is included in the regular self defense curriculum. It is an optional topic for those who wish to pursue it during our open gym Fridays. Those who wish to get CPR or First Aid certification (Red Cross) without taking the full self defense program may attend a special Friday session. Pre-registration is required and the general cost is $75, but discounts are available for groups of five or more.
We welcome comments, questions and suggestions for improvement.
